Omenopus haven’t been around that long, but they have come with a well-developed sound and a wealth of musical experience. The music is experimental space rock with a lyrical edge; they pull together all the standard parts you might expect from such a description, but the mix is unique and mature. And whilst there are elements of outer space, the emphasis seems to be on inner space – fractured realities and the psyche performing strange twists in order to survive in the face of an overwhelmingly large and strange universe.
They are also one of those rarities – a band that has an identifiable sound yet is clearly not content with standing still. With each release, they have moved forward, explored, and gained depth. Like a tree they expand, unfurl, yet are always true to their roots.
